Visit to Slovakia

We decided to participate in Erasmus+ programme because we wanted to improve our English, visit another country and gain new experience. The choice of students on the trip was based on the number of tasks we carried out during the project. Six of the most engaged students had the pleasure to take part in a wonderful trip to the Slovakian capital together with students from Greece and Bulgaria. We left on Sunday, October 17, and returned at night of October 22. We went to Bratislava by minibus. Our road was long, but pleasant. We were accommodated at the Nivy Hotel, which is located very close to the centre of the capital. The hotel was well maintained and the food was fresh and tasty. On the first day, we were introduced to all the students and teachers and presented our schools and towns. They also orginized refreshments and each country brought its own delicacies which we tasted. Then we went on a tour of Bratislava and visited many interesting sights. On the second day, our hosts showed us how they learn and then we had lunch together and visited the UFO restaurant, from where we could admire the panorama of Bratislava. At the end of the day, we walked around the beautiful green parks located in the city centre. On the third day, we went on a trip to Devin Castle. The views along the way were amazing and the castle made a huge impression on us. The next day we were given time to work on our projects that we had to complete during our stay. The projects we had to do were about  ecology. Each country had to present a different environmental problem. Then we went for a walk in the woods and spent time outdoors. On the last day, we presented our projects and had lunch together. Unfortunately, the trip was coming to an end and we had to say goodbye to the wonderful people we met on this trip. The Erasmus+  visit provided us with a lot of new experiences. We were able to learn a lot about the culture of other countries. We can confidently say that it was one of the best trips we have ever been on.

Time to see how it works

On Friday, June 18, we visited the closest place related to ecology. We decided to go for a walk to the sewage treatment plant to bring closer our knowledge of natural processes. The lady who checks the composition and level of water pollution took us to the laboratory and showed us the activities that she performs during her work. After the introduction, the man controlling the proper operation of the sewage treatment plant briefly introduced us to his work and what the sewage treatment plant consists of. Then it was time to see all the biological processes. We visited the sewage treatment plants with a man who in an interesting and funny way made our time pleasant and helped us acquire knowledge. We learned that we purify water by providing bacteria and oxygen. We saw what it all looks like and what we can have thanks to such processes. The incoming sewage is cleaned of unnecessary pollutants several times until clean water is obtained, which then goes to the river. At the end, we were led to the top of the reservoir to admire the panorama of our city. Beautiful weather accompanied us all day.

Online project meeting

On the 23rd January 2021 we had a conference with Bulgaria, Greece, Slovakia and Romania. Students from each country showed us presentations about their cities, home towns and schools. We found them really interesting. We learned about loT and how to create a project In Google Earth. We voted for the logo of the project. All of them were great and we couldn’t decide which one to pick. The atmosphere was great. We can’t wait to meet the students and their teachers in real life. We are looking forward to learn more about them and some new stuff. We are excited about travelling to their counties. We hope the pandemic will allow us doing what we have planed. Although the meeting was three hours long we liked it a lot.
